National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) is purely a non-governmental, non-profit organization, established in June, 1999, with the aim to facilitate, promote and help create environmental, healthcare and educational awareness among the masses in general, youth and children in particular.

NFEH is affiliated with the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FPCCI), United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and Environment Protection Deptt, Government of Sindh. It is committed to serve and promote the cause of healthcare and protection of natural environment by creating awareness among all segments of society. NFEH has been successfully organizing various interactive events to meet its desired objectives.

According to heavy and toxic pollution by 55,000 Rickshaws running at Karachi, you have given extension to conversion of Two Strokes Rickshaw into Four Strokes Engine on 30th May, 2007 for 3 years. This extension will be ended on June, 2010. Despite of your deep interest and close interaction and coordination with Karachi Taxi and Motor Rickshaw Owners Association, Minister Transport, the conversion program could not expedite till today. The citizens and Rickshaw Owners are waiting for implementation your orders.

At present, all Rickshaws owners waiting for facilities and amount of Rs.30,000/- from Government of Sindh as they have reminded various times to your goodslef, Provincial Minister of Transport, Excise and Taxation, Labour, Secretary Transport, Secretary Provincial Transport Authority but could not get attention. The details is attached a news item published in Daily Jang on 5th April, 2010.

To control pollution in city, please intervene on emergency basis and resolve this issue immediately.

We would like to suggest that please convene a meeting of all stakeholders and discuss issues, problems and their solutions. On behalf of citizen of Karachi, we will be grateful to you for this effort.
